0:00In 23.3 Tableau have added a new feature
0:02called dynamic axis ranges. If you right
0:04click on an
0:05axis, go to edit the axis, you'll actually
0:07get this option to allow you to change the
0:10value that's used
0:11to be a parameter. What makes it dynamic is
0:14the ability to set that using parameter
0:17actions. So
0:17you can actually feed values into this and
0:19you can have the axis change depending on
0:21your interaction.
0:22Check out my full video on YouTube but just
0:24to show you that this feature works, I'll
0:26just go
0:26ahead and go back here. You can see that
0:28the y axis end and y axis start are set up
0:31already.
0:31If I go ahead and select this edit axis
0:33option, we'll go ahead select the axis
0:36start to be this
0:36one and the end to be that one and you can
0:38see that it does indeed actually change our
0:41axis to
0:4210,000 and 100,000. It's got a few quirks
0:45though so go ahead and check out my video
0:46as I explain
0:47this and I'll also just call out Mark Reads
0:49blog post here. He shows some fantastic
0:52ways you can
0:52use this to actually work and make this
0:55sort of work in any sort of situation you
0:57might want to
0:58use this kind of flexibility.
