The lack of a shared view on the industry's direction is why conference reactions diverge so sharply this year
People are looking at different parts of the Tableau product to answer their own specific hopes for the future
A one-size-fits-all annual conference review may no longer resonate with a fragmented audience
0:00This year though, I think the reason we can't reconcile the way we think about conference, the reason we all don't agree, is because for the first time in a long while
0:10We all don't have the same shared context for not only where the industry is going, but also where we think we should be going.
0:18But then finally, where we think the product should be going.
0:21You see, we're all looking to different parts of the products to answer specific things that we'd like to see going forward.
0:29And so for this reason, this is why I've sort of arrived at this point.
0:32Maybe what I've done every single year, just reviewing the context, isn't viable because frankly, I just don't think I could genuinely resonate with the majority of my audience anymore.
