Unboxing the Tableau Zen Master rock and a big Thank you !

A brief one to unbox something Tableau sent over and a brief thank you. Also be sure to check out the channels I mention in the video.

0:00Okay, so I've got a package today. And like

0:05, I'm not gonna lie, I actually know what's

0:07in this already.

0:08Tableau sent me something. I found out last

0:12week that we're going to send it over. And

0:15yeah, so I thought for this one, because I

0:17know what's in it, thought I'd share the

0:19moment with you guys, because I think it's

0:21important. So let me let me open this. Let

0:23me try and get into this in the most

0:25efficient way possible. I'm gonna have to

0:27do it off camera because

0:28I don't want to cut myself or something

0:32silly. So actually really well packaged. If

0:37you've ever seen an unboxing on any sort of

0:41YouTube channel, this is not that for sure.

0:46I'm not even and this is really kind of,

0:50you know, well packaged. Let me let me try

0:54it from reverse.

0:56You probably can't even hear me because I'm

0:58actually talking to the mic here because I

1:00don't wanna. Here we go. I think I'm in.

1:05Right. So okay, box open. Here we go. It's

1:14pretty cool. Got some original Tableau conf

1:22etti.

1:24I'll actually let me put that. That's

1:26actually quite cool. There's a lot of conf

1:28etti. I'm actually going to use that for

1:31something. I think I opened it backwards

1:34because this is at the bottom. It's a

1:37little note from Tableau. And on the back,

1:41it's the Zen Master logo. So I was

1:44nominated a while back for the Tableau Zen

1:48Master. And I actually failed miserably

1:51because because I opened it backwards.

1:54The stones at the bottom of the box. And

1:57yeah, here it is. This is the little Table

2:00au Zen Master stone that you get. You can

2:02see it's got my name engraved in the bottom

2:05there. And then on the back, it's got the

2:08Tableau logo. So yeah, for most people,

2:12this is just a rock. But now this means a

2:15lot. I'll go into that in a second. So yeah

2:17, lots of confetti. I'm not going to throw

2:20this around the room because I'm not going

2:21to clean this up later.

2:24But let's also open this. Let's see what's

2:27in here. I don't know what this is. So let

2:31's open this and find out what's in here.

2:35And what's this? Oh, hello. This is very

2:39nice. So this is like, this is this is like

2:43, I guess like a little organizer. And it's

2:47got like a little like phone.

2:52It's got a little phone charger in there. I

2:53guess there's Tableau's way of saying sort

2:55of thank you, which is kind of nice. It's

2:57got a little cable. So this is, this is one

3:00of those. What do you call it? It's one of

3:03those Qi charging, not Qi charging. It's

3:06probably just, yeah, it is a Qi charging

3:07mat. So you just put your phone on the back

3:09of that. And yeah, it's really nice, though

3:11. Really nice touch. Nice little gift from

3:13Tableau. But to be honest, you know, even

3:15if they didn't send the server, I'd still

3:17be hugely grateful.

3:20In many ways, the Tableau nomination

3:22actually was pretty incredible. And just

3:25for context, Tableau's En-Master is a

3:27program that runs every single year. And

3:30essentially, Tableau asked the community to

3:33nominate certain people that they think

3:36have exemplified some of the

3:37characteristics that they sort of really

3:40look for in the Tableau's En-Master program

3:42. And in essence, I was sort of really lucky

3:45to be honest, I decided to start a YouTube

3:48channel, I was going to do it anyway.

3:50And I just so happened to start doing it.

3:52Right as you know, COVID kicked in. And

3:54because of that everyone was online. So I

3:56managed to capitalize on this momentum of

3:59people going online. And I just started

4:01making videos, something that I've done a

4:03lot of in the past for my own personal

4:05projects, and for all various things. But

4:08in essence, it's the coming together of a

4:10lot of coincidences. And essentially, I put

4:13some of my video editing skills, they're

4:15not great, try and make the most of it as

4:17much as I can, I'm still learning today.

4:20And I put that together with my knowledge

4:22of Tableau. And I just made something out

4:24of it. And the time to time to do that

4:26actually came from the lack of the commute.

4:28So because I wasn't traveling to work, I

4:30was actually able to put that time into

4:32something else. And that was essentially

4:34these videos. And so, again, it's very much

4:36circumstantial, I you know, any other year,

4:39I wouldn't have had the time, especially

4:41given that I'm a new dad, I'm expecting

4:43another kid in December, I just wouldn't

4:45have had the time to put aside to make the

4:47videos that I make. And so I'm super

4:49grateful because you don't become a Zen

4:51master, because no Tableau just sort of

4:53looks at your content and decides, yes, you

4:55're worthy, you actually get nominated. And

4:57the way that happens is essentially, look,

5:00I could have made all of this content. And

5:02if it didn't get shared, if people didn't

5:04enjoy it, people didn't say thank you, then

5:06people didn't comment. If people didn't

5:08give me you know, criticism as well on the

5:10channel, then it wouldn't have pushed me to

5:12sort of make the content as good as it is.

5:14So in many ways, this is this is sort of

5:16our achievement, if you're watching this

5:18channel, if you've been part of the journey

5:19,

5:20this is very much our achievement. And I

5:21kind of want to share this with everyone.

5:24And there's not much more to it than that.

5:26And it's nice to have it. And I, you know,

5:29I still do what I did, even without it, I

5:31don't sort of need this to sort of

5:33celebrate anything. I think I'm very, very

5:35sort of grateful to have benefited so much

5:37from the tablet community. And, and, you

5:40know, I just needed to give something pack,

5:42I've been using Tableau for seven years. I,

5:45you know, use it for ages, but I just never

5:47really got into things

5:49like blogging, or even, you know, so many

5:51of the other ways of sort of giving back to

5:53the community. So the videos was my way of

5:55doing it. And I think I was just able and

5:57lucky to find a niche. And that said, I'm

5:59not the only one making videos, there's so

6:01many other great channels, making videos.

6:04In fact, I'll put some up on the screen now

6:06. And I'd be super shocked if some of these

6:08guys weren't Zen masters themselves in the

6:10future. In my opinion, some of them deserve

6:13it now. So if you're looking or thinking

6:16about, you know, Zen master nominations,

6:19check out

6:19any of these channels that I've got on my

6:21screen, they all make absolutely great

6:23content, they put just as much time, if not

6:25more time than I do into making content. So

6:27definitely check those channels out if you

6:29've not come across them. But again, I didn

6:31't want to make this a long video, I just

6:32wanted to say thank you. Thank you for, you

6:35know, all your support watching my content,

6:37sharing my content. And thank you for the

6:39criticism. I know there's so much more

6:41content that you guys would love to see

6:43that I haven't made yet. We'll get to it,

6:45we'll get to it. And making content is sort

6:48of a

6:48process. And sometimes I see some

6:51suggestions, and I look at it, and I just

6:53think, look, I can't do that the service

6:55that it deserves right now. But in the

6:57future, that will definitely change. So

7:00stay tuned for that. So yeah, that's pretty

7:03much it. That's, that's the Tableau Zen

7:05Master rock as it were. Thank you to Table

7:08au for sending this through. Thank you for

7:10watching the content. Man, it's sort of

7:13weird. I got nominated a few months ago,

7:15but it's nice to finally have something and

7:18, you know,

7:18physical that you can sort of tell a story

7:20with or something like that. And I don't

7:22know why. But yeah, it just means a lot. So

7:25thank you so much for everything you've

7:27done as a community. And thank you for

7:29continuing to support the channel. I'll

7:32catch you on Friday, I've got another video

7:33planned for Friday, slightly different,

7:35very different to my usual kind of content.

7:37And yeah, we're going to get back onto the

7:40functions playlist that I've been working

7:42on, I'm going to try and work through all

7:43the Tableau functions before the end of the

7:44year. So stay tuned for that. But until

7:47then, as I always say,

7:48Catch you in the next one!

A brief one to unbox something Tableau sent over and a brief thank you. Also be sure to check out the channels I mention in the video.
