0:04It's a new feature called the workbook

0:06optimizer. Let me show you how it works.

0:08At the very bottom there's a new option

0:10called the workbook optimizer. Go ahead and

0:12click that

0:13and you'll get this. This essentially

0:14checks the whole workbook against 12 tests.

0:17They are

0:17typically tests that most advanced users of

0:19Tableau would check the workbook for. So if

0:22I

0:22open up this first one you can see that it

0:24's failed a test on unused field, the second

0:27one

0:27has an amber alert on calculations using

0:29multiple data sources and this workbook has

0:32actually passed

0:32these 10 tests including the number of data

0:35sources, unused data sources, calculation

0:38types,

0:38calculation lengths and a bunch of other

0:40things that are quite advanced if you're

0:41new to Tableau.

0:42One really nice thing about this feature is

0:44it also tells you how you can address these

0:46issues.

0:46For example here on unused fields I can

0:48expand this, go down and I can see the

0:51actual fields

0:51that it's recommending I've removed from

0:53the data source because they're not used.
