0:00One of the new features in 2020.2 is the
0:03ability to add and remove items from a set
0:06using a menu option in the tool tip.
0:09This is an addition and almost an
0:11enhancement to the existing capability. It
0:14's giving you more ways of working with
0:15values.
0:16You'll see here that when I select a
0:17particular item here, it changes the
0:19context of the visualization and it does a
0:22comparison against my selection.
0:24So in this case it's E17 and you can see
0:26here that the average price in this region
0:29is 458.838 and you can see that here in the
0:32tool tip.
0:33And obviously you can see here that my set
0:34control is updating to reflect that. If I
0:37select multiple regions, then you'll see
0:38here that multiple regions are selected in
0:41my set control.
0:42But one of the cool new features in 2020.2
0:45is to actually add items to a set just by
0:48using a menu option.
0:50So let's go ahead and let's show you how to
0:52do that. I need to go to the dashboard
0:53options at the top, then go down to actions
0:57.
0:57And I actually want to add an action in
0:59this case. So I'm going to get to the
1:02change set values option here.
1:05I'm going to select that and then I'm just
1:07going to say add set value. It's going to
1:11work as a menu selection.
1:13And I want to use these two new options
1:15here, add values to set, remove values from
1:17set, and I just need to select the add
1:19values because that's what this one is
1:21doing.
1:22And I need to make sure I check the data
1:23source I'm using and the right set. So
1:26those two are correct. Now I can click OK.
1:29And then I can just basically go ahead and
1:30do the same thing. I'll do this a little
1:32bit quicker now because I've shown you how
1:34to do it.
1:35So remove values from set. This needs to be
1:38a menu option again, and it needs to apply
1:41to the out code set.
1:43I'll leave these options as they are. Click
1:46OK. And now we have those two options.
1:49Now, the last thing to bear in mind is that
1:51if they don't show for you at the bottom
1:53here like mine have, you need to go and
1:56enable one particular setting.
1:58And you do that by going to the tooltip
1:59option inside of the sheet and making sure
2:02that you have on hover available.
2:04These menu options don't appear if you have
2:06responsive enabled. They only appear when
2:09you have on hover enabled.
2:11So set this on hover. You do that in the
2:13tooltips option here. And then when you go
2:15back to the dashboard and you hover over
2:17these, you'll get these add set value and
2:19remove values from set.
2:21So I'm going to have a go at them now. I'm
2:23going to click this for this one, and you
2:24'll see that it adds that value to the set
2:26and the whole chart changes.
2:27And that's been done from the tooltip. And
2:29I'm going to go ahead and remove this value
2:32from the set having done so. So we should
2:34see a gray page because there is nothing to
2:35compare from.
2:36So if I do that, you'll see there's no
2:37comparison being done. And actually, you
2:39can see our out code set here sort of
2:41updating as well to reflect that.
2:43If I was to then add set the value back in,
2:45you'll see this changes to SE 16.
2:49So that's pretty much the feature in a
2:50nutshell. You can do lots of exciting
2:52things with this. Check out my video on the
2:542020.2 update on set actions and set
2:56controls to get more context on this and a
2:59really long explain on how to build this
3:01exact chart.

3:05me know what I can improve on. I'll catch
